For the first marijuana dispensary in Sandusky, Ohio, Standard Wellness looked to The Krueger Group to design and deliver their flagship dispensary, The Forest. Working within a tight deadline to meet the strict guidelines set forth by the Board of Pharmacy, the fast-tracked project was conceived and delivered in 5 months, which allowed Standard Wellness to claim the honor of making the first legal sale of medical marijuana in the state of Ohio.

The unassuming finished product is an inviting retail experience that is equal parts safe and secure environment and easy to navigate space for patients and team members.

Unique exterior and interior elements and finish details include:

• Painted varying exposure horizontal HardiePlank lap siding.
• Masonry feature wall.
• Live grow wall.
• Open ceiling design painted out black with sleek lighting at main retail area.
• Custom cabinetry with reclaimed wood accents and quartz and glass countertops at display cases.
• Polished concrete floors.

Security features include:

• Hurricane proof storefront glass systems at main entry elevations.
• Secure delivery port at rear elevation with electronic sliding gate and 10’ high horizontal 2″ x 8″ cedar plank fence to obscure visibility.
• Built-in cash safe secured to an isolated foundation.
• Secure check-in behind bullet proof glass off entry vestibule.
• High strength barrier mesh installed between studs and finish drywall throughout building.
• Full 24-hour video surveillance of exterior and interior.
• Height strips installed at all egress doors.

Additionally, included in the scope of work was the installation of a (31) car asphalt parking lot.
